GW6/International Break Waiver Wire Targets
The Waiver Wire has a new man in charge. Gary has taken over the reins, so this one is all his. If you have missed his voice on the pod, this is where to find him, every Monday, with the names he is targeting for the week ahead.
Defenders
Andy Robertson- 47% - tottenham
In a poor tottenham team it's hard to find positives but Robertson could be that guy! He is somewhat finding some of his old liverpool form with back to back double digit gameweeks. This is a claim now for long term gain with a very scoreable run of fixtures in the next 8 games and for a player who's pts contributions are made up if almost 70% ghost points, this is someone you don't want to miss out on.
Antonio Silva- 33% - bournemouth
I can not understand why a player like this is so low in ownership. He could be your Silva lining in a bad week. All of Antonio Silvas points are ghost points and if a bournemouth defender is available with ghost point contributions and a favorable run of fixtures after gameweek 6 I would want them in my team. Could he be the next james hill?
Dara O Shea - 11% -Ipswich
This is a stud with a high floor and even bigger ceiling. O Shea has proven his ghosting ability before in the league with burnley so why wouldn't we trust it. Already having played some tough games O Shea is currently averaging close to 8 ghost points per start and has completed 5 key passes. Sooner rather than later you have to feel that one of those turns into assists. Can he have bad gameweeks? Sure. But this could be the week one of the key passes becomes an assist.
Wesley fofana - 24% - Chelsea
Chelsea have just been stung 3-0 by the bees. In all truth you maybe asking what the buzz is about fofana. Cold hard facts are that he is averaging 7.44 per game and these are valuable ghost points. He still scored a very respectable 10.75 pts in a 3 -0 drubbing and he looks to be a guaranteed start for Chelsea who have no European football.
Midfielders
Joe willock- 19% -Newcastle
A surprising choice for many but hear me out. Although willock does not ghost particularly well in fantrax he always seems to pop up with valuable actions. Willock has already contributed 2 goals in the first 5 matches for Newcastle who seem to have turned a corner. Favorable fixtures against Coventry, villa and palace in the next 3 have me confident he can produce something valuable for the next couple of gameweeks
Shea Charles- 10% - Fulham
Why a central holding midfielder ? Well Charles has played the last 2 matches against Liverpool and man united and scored 20 ghost pts between those matches. Charles now seems to be holding a starting role under arbeloa and as far fetched as it may sound - I just wonder if he could be the one collecting the points as iwobi used to?
Yasin ayari - 40% -Brighton
While I can admit that there are currently more entertainment players we could look at in the waivers , don't discount the steady workhorse for a free flowing team like brighton. Ayari has been spoken about by us in our podcasts and rightly so. He is more than the regular steady player as he continuously provides an option for goals . He registered to shots against arsenal but in addition has alos completed a number of key passes -we all know that it's sometime until that becomes an assist for an attacking brighton team.
Maitland Niles- 18% -Everton
For mutli positional leagues this could be a steal. Maitland Niles seems to have locked in a starting spot for everton. He's a steady scorer with upside value as we have already seen with his goal against man united. My guess is that he continues to start for everton and could be a good streaming option up against hull Next.
Forwards
Nketiah - 26% - Crystal palace
Well Eddie has had his share of injury concerns but he is slowly coming back with a goal in Europe. He looked sharp at the start of the season and ghosted pretty well . He's one to keep on the radar for a limited forward pool with potential upside.
Malick fofana - 29% - Sunderland
The new signing has started to receive more and more minutes and it's surely a matter of time before he begins to get regular playing time. Fofana is quick and tricky and ghosting 7.5 ghost pts in the 30 minute window against city is a good start. I think he can provide some upside value here and won't remain this low owned for much longer. I can't see sunderland signing him for no reason long term.
